See I came to a startling realisation (I say startling, but I wasn’t actually startled. I didn’t suddenly jump up from my desk and let out a yelp… well not a big one anyway!). As much as I love The Legend of Dave and doing it and providing it to you lovely people, it is an awful lot of work. And unfortunately its starting to feel a lot like work.

When I started doing this web comic, it was a hobby. A hobby I got to share online. It was fun and exciting, and it was nice seeing the final product. However now it’s a lot more like “Ugh I have to get this comic done! :( “. And it was only recently I realised that this isn’t the way I should feel when doing the comic.

So that brings me along to my decision. You know, the bad thing mentioned in the title. I’ve councilled with my lawyers and they’ve agreed with me. For the time being, I’m putting the comic on hold. Just for a little while! Just till I get my passion back… ok that sounded stupid but you get the general idea.

Now don’t be too worried, the comic will eventually come back. I’m thinking this will last a few months at most. Worst comes to worst, probably be next summer by the time I get back. And don’t think I won’t be doing any work in all that time. I do have a story to tell with this comic. I have the general idea for the story but I want to work out some of the finer details as well. So I’ll be doing that.

So like I said, it’s only going to be a small haiatus. A few months at the most. And to show how commited I am to this comic, I’m going to be renewing my subscriptions and what-not for this site. AKA www.legendofdave.com will remain working for another year!

Anyway, sorry about the bad news guys (and gals). I’ll see you around I guess.

Ah nothing like a new character every now and then. If it’s not entirely clear, that new character is the King of Hyland. And I suppose the guards could be considered a new character, but there’s just too many of them to name individually! :D

I did have this comic ready for you all yesterday, but it completely slipped my mind that I hadn’t posted it up. But here it is now, so no harm done right?

Another Monday, another comic.

I really didn’t think I’d get this done on time, but then I did. I was surprised with myself. Either way, I hope you enjoy it. I’m back in College tomorrow, which may mean a little delay next week, depending on how my time is.

Oh wow, this comic actually came out on time!

And hopefully so will next week’s. Not much to say today except that I tried a new way of colouring the backgrounds using a bitmap thingie thing. Ok I can’t remember what its called. Anyway, if you like it, let me know!
